Fijian Posterior Massage — 8 CE Hours with Lolita Knight Saturday, April 19, 2008, 9:00am-6:00pm Tuition: $150.00 Register Early, Space is Limited. Current MSSM Students receive 10% Discount Fijian Massage is a traditional technique handed down from generation to generation. It is a deep, therapeutic method that does not include walking on the client's back. Fijian Massage can be performed with a client fully clothed or on bare skin with the therapist barefoot or wearing cotton socks. Each part of the foot is used for a specific function in the massage. Some parts are for warming up or softer strokes, others for working close to the joints and others for deeper yet gentle work. Benefits to the therapist include: no hands are used, no bars or equipment are needed, can sit in chair or stand while giving. Join the over 600 massage therapists working in day spas, private clinics and massage schools who have added Fijian Massage for their clients that want a deeper massage without the therapist injuring their own arms, shoulders or writs. Gravity and physics are used instead of therapist applying their own technique to give for effective deep tissue massage. In this class you will experience the ancient art of Fijian Massage from the Fiji Islands where the village therapist is barefoot and gives a gentle, yet effective deep tissue massage. Nine different parts of the foot are incorporated to massage the posterior body.
