Associate in Applied Science Massage Therapist Degree—Established November 9, 2005

Mountain State School of Massage is pleased to offer the Massage Therapist Associate’s Degree Program in collaboration with Marshall University Community and Technical College of Huntington, West Virginia. As an associate degree-trained therapist, you’ll have the advanced skills necessary to specialize in the rapidly growing, in-demand field of massage therapy and bodywork.

Students have several options in pursuing this program of study. The student can complete the Allied Health course work at Marshall Community and Technical College first and then complete the Mountain State School of Massage Day, Night or Weekend Massage Therapist Program or first graduate from the Mountain State School of Massage Day, Night or Weekend Massage Therapist Program and then pursue the Allied Health course work at Marshall Community and Technical College.

SCI 201—Integrated Science—4 Credit Hours

MAT 150—Applied Professional Mathematics—3 Credit Hours

SS 215—Lifespan Psychology—3 Credit Hours

IT 101—Fundamentals of Computers—3 Credit Hours

COM 111—Written Communication—3 Credit Hours

COM 112—Oral Communication—3 Credit Hours


Mountain State School of Massage Coursework in Massage Therapy:

MAS 210—Orientation, Awareness Skills, Business and Research—4 Credit Hours

MAS 205—Anatomy and Physiology for Massage Therapy—11 Credit Hours

MAS 230—Kinesiology for Massage Therapy—7 Credit Hours

MAS 225—Pathology for Massage Therapy—5 Credit Hours

MAS 215—Bodywork I—6 Credit Hours

MAS 220—Bodywork II—5 Credit Hours

MAS 235—Student Clinic-Integrative Massage—2-4 Credit Hours


Hours Required for Graduation: 60 Credit Hours
