Welcome!

Mountain State School of Massage enrolls approximately 80 students each year. Ranging in age from 19-60, and representing diverse backgrounds, our students come from across the United States and other countries to study at MSSM in Charleston, West Virginia.

The students, faculty, and staff at MSSM deeply value the art and science of bodywork and aspire to express a greater sense of self-awareness, understanding, and community service. Students are actively involved in their education and are provided with opportunities to be heard during their time with MSSM through active listening and awareness skills training and practice.

MSSM students practice community service through the school’s sponsorship of complimentary massages at the Black Bear Mountain Bike Race and other local sporting events. Students also provide seated chair massage at local businesses and job fairs.

MSSM also serves the community through the Student Clinic. The Student Clinic offers reduced rate massage and bodywork sessions, given by students in training, to the general public. The Clinic experience offers students the opportunity to work with clients who come to the clinic for assistance with health issues, stress-related concerns, and relaxation.
